Sony Xperia S – Sony Xperia Flagship

It’s been quite a while now since Sony parted ways with Ericsson. Last February, Sony gave us their very first handset (without Ericsson) and the Sony Xperia flagship named Sony Xperia S. This handset is packed with a fancy and high resolution screen. It comes with a whopping 12MP shutter as well. In this article, I will try to share as much information about the first Sony only branded handset as I can. Read on!

The specs of the Xperia S are pretty high-end and if we based it on paper, this will give us a whole new mobile phone experience. It comes with a 4.3″ screen coupled with Sony’s Bravia HD technology. It comes packed with a whopping 12MP Exmore R shutter. You will also get the Android Gingerbread as its OS.

If you look at the handset you will agree with me when I say that it is pretty hot! With the phone’s slab made out of glossy piano black glass and a portion of the phone which houses a transparent strip, you will say that it bears a futuristic design. The transparent strip that runs from the phone’s front and back side acts as its antenna. The phone’s actual dimensions are 128 x 64 x 10.6mm and weighs in at 144 grams. It comes with a curved and slightly thicker back.

Now allow me to describe this handset for you. If you look at the phone’s top part you will find its power/unlock button and the conventional 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone’s right side houses the volume buttons, HDMI port, and dedicated camera button. The phone’s bottom part houses the charging/synch port. If you look at the phone’s back then you will see its camera lens and LED light. The phone’s front part is consisted of a large dark panel with small indentation for the earpiece and its 1.3MP front-facing camera.

Even if the handset is made out of plastic, it is still capable of giving you that premium look and feel. If you plan to get this handset SIM-free then expect to pay as much as £470. But if you want to get this on contract then expect something like £18 to £36 a month on a 24-month contract deal. This handset is available in Black and in White variants.

If you want the latest Android Iteration (Ice Cream Sandwich) for your first Android handset then don’t worry, because this handset will soon get a taste of the yummy Ice Cream Sandwich. So for the meantime, enjoy its Android Gingerbread OS and other amazing features. Enjoy the Sony Xperia flagship now, enjoy the Sony Xperia S.
