Most people say that a wedding is all about love and making the right step in a couple that is forming a family… nothing can be less true. Of course, the marriage in itself is or should be the celebration of love and a sort of promise that you will always be together “in joy and in sorrow”, yet the wedding is not the direct effect of love and, neither a family’s foundation, except formally speaking. When you love someone you stick around him, take care of him, confide in him, share everything together and support each other – that is all about love and being a family.
Therefore, I believe that the wedding is only the traditional way to celebrate your happiness together with your family and dear ones. In this context, the hen night is the unconventional way to share your joy with your friends, a sort of means to tell yourself and them that “this is the farthest we can go! It can’t get any better!” So, together with the wedding ceremony, (and often even more than it) the hen party is a life-long memento that no future bride should miss. The hen night is your chance to get away from conventionalism, to go crazy with your friends and have a time of your life without any responsibilities and worries and preconceptions.
Many things can be done at the hen party…from giggle costumes to funny challenging dares and games, hilarious and witty hen night accessories. Again there is a wide variety of hen outfits including sexy and colorful neon fluorescent tutus with frilly knickers and latest fashion leg-warmers, fairy-like costumes with heavenly wings and halos, thinly army suits with camouflage headbands and boots, khaki net gloves and why not some aviator glasses, dog tag necklace and some black and green face paint.
Besides the special party outfits, don’t forget about the cheering hen-like games and all those fabulous hen night accessories that turn any atmosphere into a complete blast. Some ideas could be: the tricky funny spinner that gives a droll dare to the hen who shows courage to twirls its arrow; or the scavenger hunt cards with outrageous task that have to be completed; the male evaluation cards ranging from ‘complete loser’ to ‘off the charts’ and which always leads to naughty funny judgments and giggles.
Some blushes and lingering eyes can do nobody harm, so go on light some sparkles for the bride-to-be with the nude male cards. Then there are all those small things that just set one in the hen party mood and which, for sure you will find difficult to decide upon since they are all just exquisite – such as willy shot glass, funky straws or candles, hen night poppers and bubbles and all sort of flags and balloons, weird looking whistles and badges, warning signs and various inscriptions sashes, personalized masks or t-shirts and so on…
All in all, the choices just seem endless… and the prices for both hen party outfits and accessories are also reasonable. You may find plenty of other witty ideas on the web. However, keep in mind that the main issue is not what you decide to wear, neither how you decide to spice up the party – but to enjoy it at the outmost because this is your only hen party ever and, indeed it cannot get any better than that!
