Try LED Light Therapy For Painful Foot Bone Spurs

As we age, unfortunately there are certain elements we have no control over. If you’ve ever suffered from the unpleasant feeling of a bone spur you know what I mean.

You really can’t control it! It’s just a part of the sands of time working against us.

I know this because I suffer from it! Bone spurs in the ankle area can be quite painful but I’ve found a little gizmo that just might give you the same relief it that I’ve received….LED Light Therapy.

Bone Spurs: What Are They?

Before I give you’re the goodies about LED Light Therapy, let’s take a step back and review…. “what is a bone spur.” Actually a bone spur is an extra bone or additional bony growth that has formed on one of your normal bones. Because it is an “add-on” bone it can cause discomfort when it rubs against other bones or soft tissues. Now the interesting thing about bone spurs is that they’re formed actually as a preventative response by our body to rubbing or stress over an extended period-of- time. They can form as a result of the aging process or a torn ligament.

How Do You Know When You Have A Bone Spur?

Believe or not most of us have bone spurs and we don’t even know it. Many times they’ll never rear their ugly heads but when they do you’ll notice some swelling, a burning sensation, pain, a tearing feeling, or in the case of your feet probably some corns or calluses which act as more padding for the newly formed bone.

How Do You Detect A Bone Spur?

Easy, it’s by an X-ray, and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) or a CT Scan. But remember, since most bone spurs don’t cause problems there’s no need to go to these lengths unless you have severe discomfort.

What Types of Treatment Are Available? The normal treatment would be the use of anti-inflammatory drugs like Advil or Tylenol for pain. If you have an area that has some swelling you can use ice or a cold pack. For foot problems, a large variety of orthotics can be inserted into your shoes to provide relief due to irritation of the nerves. Surgery is also an option to remove the bone spur but usually this is reserved to extreme cases.

So, I opted for LED Light Therapy which utilizes deep penetrating light to provide relief. Why, because it’s non-invasive and only takes 17 minutes twice a day. I can get up in the morning and have a cup of coffee, read the newspaper or watch television while the LED Light Therapy unit is providing me treatment, healing and relieving any discomfort.

How Does LED Light Therapy Work?

It converts light energy within the skin cells, like photosynthesis, which takes sunlight and converts it into food energy in plants. LED therapy is one of the few non-invasive tools available that can reverse the appearance of aging skin, such as wrinkles and mottled skin tone and provide relief to nagging injuries without having to go under the knife.

Please remember, different results for different people. Research shows red wavelengths and certain infrared (not visible) wavelengths will increase cellular activity at the dermal level. By utilizing the right wavelengths of LED light and delivering them to the exact area on your body, your dermal cells receive an additional boost of energy to help with pain relief and combat the anti-aging process. Research has shown that light stimulation does help speed up the healing process by increasing cell growth in the damaged areas.

So, evaluate and put together the proper plan of action to take care of this nagging problem.
