Cable TV Splitter Uses and Benefits

Simply put, a TV splitter is needed when you are installing cable television at home and you need at least two different TVs. Gone are the days when everybody was gathering in one room to watch a TV program and also gone are the ongoing fights about who wants to watch what. Now the trend is in every room having its own TV, so if you want to watch a horror movie, you do it in the privacy of your room, while the kids can watch their favorite cartoons in their own rooms.

However in order to effectively be able to ‘split’ the cable so you can watch television on several screens, you need a cable TV splitter. There are splitters with 2, 3 or more connections, depending on how many televisions you want to install at home. If you only have 2 TV sets, you need a 2 way splitter, however if you want to install 4 TV sets, you need a splitter with 4 way connection.

In a nutshell, the cable TV splitter has the role of assigning one signal to more than one outlet. You can actually have up to 15 way splitter designs and none of them destroy the signal’s strength of give any modulation loss. This allows you to easily watch a good quality picture either in HDTV or regular type.

The splitter gets one signal input and it forwards it to various output ports. Basically the signal coming out of the splitter should be the strongest one so your bandwidth or even the HD connection is kept intact without being compromised in any way.

There are, however, times when the signal does get compromised, and this can happen due to a couple of reasons. For example should your HDTV have an unclear or a hazy image, you need to check the source of the signal. Each connection should be clean and tightly fitted. Also the coax cable should be plugged on to the best signal source in the splitter port. Also avoid having too many splitters as they can lower the overall quality of the signal that you are receiving.
