Exactly how To Develop A Web Site – Component One – Recognizing The Fundamentals

There is such a misconception for beginners on how to build a website that I decided to help walk them through step by step each phase. This article is the beginning of the series. OK let’s get started shall we?

Biggest misconception beginners assume is they see software for free that will teach them how to build a website but in the end they find out that there are other steps that need to be done in order for that website to be seen on the Internet.

Most important thing to remember from this article is…

There are two things you absolutely must have!

1) A domain name (Roughly $10 a Year)

2) A hosting Account (Roughly $8 a Month)

So let’s talk about a domain name first. A domain name is the name of your website. For example it could be your name, johndoe.com or johndoeplumbingbusiness.com. You need to have a domain name to be able to have your website viewable on the Internet. There are a lot of places you can buy a domain name just Google domain names and you will get a lot of options. I personal use GoDaddy.com they are well known and provide some of the best customer support available.

Tip: Go to GoDaddy and put in the search bar the domain name you want and it will let you know if that name is available and if not what other ones are. By the way if you can, get your name.com if it’s available they are going fast and also use the.com instead of.info or.org etc.

The next thing you need is a hosting account. The purpose of the hosting account is this is the place that stores your website and makes it viewable on the Internet. Without it no one will ever see your website. Again you can Google webhosting and you will find a lot of options. HostGator is a very well know one. I use them on some of my websites you can’t go wrong using them. You can use free hosting sites but I must warn you they are annoying. Many have ads on your site, they are limited in what you can do with your site, support is very limited if any.

Learning how to build a website is not as hard as one might think. The tricky part comes in learning how to properly put it on the Internet for millions to see. FYI: Just because you have a website on the Internet does not mean anyone will see it.
