A Dell Latitude E5400 Review – Pros, Cons, and Test Results!

Today we are happy to announce we have just received our brand new Dell Latitude E5400. And of course, we have already tested and prepared out own Dell Latitude E5400 review. At first glance, this laptop looks very good, with sleek and slim lines. Its modern and interesting design will clearly attract most users looking for a stylish and elegant laptop. It also makes for a great gift if the opportunity arises. However, we are aware that most of our readers are less interested in its good looks and more in its capabilities. This is why we focused on this more in our Dell Latitude E5400 review.

We started testing our new acquisition right away and what better place to start than the central processing unit (otherwise known as CPU)? It is the most important component in any laptop and it should be capable enough to provide users with good performance. We were very happy to find an Intel Core2 Duo P8400 processor working at a speed of 2.26 GHz and on a large L3 cache of 3 MB. Its high front side bus (also commonly called FSB) of 1066 MHz is good enough to propel this central processing unit through our most resource consuming tests. In our Dell Latitude E5400 review, we give this laptop 10 points out of 10 here.

Although we would have expected more from its memory, we found out that E5400’s 2 GB of DDR2 memory working at 800 MHz are good enough to pass our tests without any major problems. Since our Dell Latitude E5400 review is objective, we are unable to give it more than 8 points here. Next we were relatively happy with the graphics processing unit (otherwise known as the GPU). The Intel GMA 4500 M HD managed to output clear and sharp graphics on the nice 14.1 inch widescreen display. Although not bright enough for our tests, the display managed to impress us with its XWGA technology and good resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels. We give the Dell Latitude E5400 9 points out of 10 for this.

The hard disk drive, although not large enough to accommodate the large media files one can find these days, impressed us with its high speed of 7200 rotations per minute (rpm). If it weren’t for the 160 GB size, the hard disk drive would have received 10 out of 10 points. However, due to this, we are unable to give it more than 9 points in our Dell Latitude E5400 review.
